We’ve all seen the systemic problems between conventional medicine and large pharmaceutical companies. Can we all agree that they have far too much power, money and influence over the American people? From an outsiders perspective, it’s hard to argue that profits aren’t a motivating factor when it comes to recommendations on your health. Besides that, drugs don’t address why you were sick in the first place! They merely mask the symptoms. It’s no wonder we’re seeing a resurgence of individuals taking control of their own health!

On this episode we speak with Meredith Mason, CNP and founder of Brio Integrative Medicine in Chattanooga, TN. She was introduced to integrative and functional medicine through the pioneering work of Dr. Andrew Weil in the 1990’s when faced with a personal health crisis of fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome. A functional medicine approach helped her address her own underlying health issues associated with gut infections, food sensitivities, hypothyroidism, hormone imbalance and environmental toxins to ultimately heal and stop her chronic pain. As a result of this long health journey, she’s devoted her professional life to helping others find and treat the root cause of their medical issues to restore their highest quality of life.

“In functional medicine we go deep. We go deep in testing… The testing has advanced do much in this realm, we can actually pinpoint specific therapies for these patients… even with advanced disease.”
